130 Kazakhstan militarymen to study in foreign universities

130 Kazakhstan militarymen will be enrolled in foreign universities by the end of 2013, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Defense Ministry. “The plan is to send around 130 militarymen of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan to study 34 different majors, including Military Security of State, Management of Radio-Electronic Warfare, Use of Artillery Surveillance Divisions, Information Security of Automated Systems, Sailing and Sea Navigation and etc.,” the Ministry announced. According to the Ministry, the education in the military academies of the General Staff costs around $6 thousand, $4 thousand in Military Academies and around $23,400 in military universities. The fees are covered by the state budget. Around 600 militarymen of Kazakhstan Armed Forces are currently studying in foreign military and civil universities. They are trained in 121 different majors mainly in pilot-technical, engineering and marine majors. Meanwhile, according to the Ministry, there are around 163 militarymen from other countries studying in Kazakhstan’s military universities under 15 majors, including Armament of Aircrafts, Team Tactics of Airborne Forces, Military Translations, etc. By Baubek Konyrov
