A famous Lithuanian cardiac surgeon Benetis Rimantas performed several unique heart surgeries in Kokshetau, KTK reports. The distinguished doctor was invited by local doctors to help them with patients with complex diagnoses. As per Akmola oblast hospital cardiac surgeon Nurlan Menaidarov, the total of 10 surgeries were performed. Each such surgery would costs $15 to 30 thousand abroad. “With the help of the city administration and the hospital, we paid 8 thousand euro (total),” said Menaidarov. Rimantas commended on the high level of Kazakhstan cardiac surgeons. As per professor, they can do successful surgeries themselves. “You have well-experienced cardiac surgeons in Almaty and Astana. These surgeries are quite difficult for local doctors. These are large-scale surgical interventions. They made a good choice by inviting a foreign surgeon. This lets them avoid the risks and see how the surgeries are done,” the Lithuanian doctor said.
