Almaty team of emergency medical aid physicians won the International Competition on First Medical Aid that was held in Lithuania, Tengrinews.kz reports citing 31 Channel. 28 teams of physicians and paramedics took part in the competition. Almaty doctors had to provide first aid to a newborn child left in a call-box, to reanimate a passenger in public transport and to deliver a baby to prove their professional excellence. “An experienced midwife was simulating the childbirth. She had an artificial belly, attached to her body. She pretended she had labor pains. It was a very realistic-looking situation. Instructors were issuing assignments. They said it was an emergency, because the woman had a high blood pressure and that we were loosing her. It was quiet stressful,” Lyubov Gailit, emergency aid physician, said. None of Kazakhstan paramedics had sport categories. It was the first time Almaty emergency aid physicians took part in such competition. This was the first time Almaty team took part in a medical competition.
