Forest and dry grass is on fire in Issyk-Kul oblast of Kyrgyzstan and the fire spread to the territory of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Kyrgyzstan Emergency Situations Ministry. According to the authority, the fire started on August 31 at Soldatskiy mountain range. The fire covered around 50 hectares of dry grass and 5 hectares of forest by September 1. The situation is complicated by the fact that the use of the special ground vehicles is impossible in the mountains. “On September 1 the fire source spread to the territory of Kazakhstan. In this relation, an agreement was reached with Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Ministry to involve a Mi-17 helicopter of KazAviaSpas in the fire quenching operation,” the press-service writes. The firefighting is till in process. The operation involves over 100 people.
