Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has made a statement regarding the evacuation of Kazakh citizens from the Middle East.
The ministry expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions in the region.
"The issue of evacuating our citizens is currently under review and is receiving special attention from the MFA. We will not abandon our compatriots in difficult situations; the care of every citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan abroad is a primary task for the foreign policy agency," stated the official representative of the ministry, Aybek Smadiyarov.
Smadiyarov noted that the ministry, in collaboration with relevant authorities, is monitoring the situation for potential repatriation flights.
"The international airport in Israel is operating normally, while all flights in Iran have been canceled until the morning of October 3. As of October 1, none of the more than one hundred foreign embassies in Lebanon have evacuated their citizens, and there has been no corresponding directive from the Lebanese authorities. Therefore, the evacuation of our citizens is still under consideration and is being closely monitored by the MFA," said Smadiyarov during a briefing in Astana.
He emphasized that the evacuation of diplomats and their families is not currently on the agenda.
"The diplomatic missions of Kazakhstan are located in the capital. You are well aware of the situation in the capital, as you follow the news. The evacuation of diplomats and their families is not currently under discussion," he concluded.
Earlier, the MFA urged Kazakh citizens in the Middle East to stay in contact with their diplomats.
