Flights from Kazakhstan to Dubai cancelled again
Tengrinews.kz — Flights between Kazakhstan and Dubai have been suspended once again. Operations will be halted from July 21 to August 31 due to the deteriorating situation in the region. Flights will continue to operate as scheduled until July 21 to facilitate passenger repatriation.
Air Astana has announced a temporary suspension of flights. The restrictions will affect scheduled flights to Dubai and will be in effect from July 21 to August 31.
The airline cited the ongoing deterioration of the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and the wider region as the reason for the decision.
"Due to the ongoing deterioration of the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and the region, Air Astana is suspending flights to Dubai from July 21 to August 31. Until July 21, flights will operate according to the schedule to transport passengers out," the statement reads.
Passengers who have already purchased tickets for the canceled flights have been offered several options. They can receive a full refund at the point of purchase, reschedule their trip to a later date free of charge, or rebook their ticket for another of the airline's international destinations.
"Passengers are provided with a full refund of the ticket price at the place of purchase, or free rebooking for later dates, as well as rebooking to other international destinations of Air Astana," the company stated.
This is not the first recent change to the Dubai flight schedule. On July 12, certain flights were canceled and adjusted due to the escalation of the situation in the Middle East.
Specifically, flight KC205 from Astana to Dubai, which departed at 07:10 AM, was turned back mid-air and returned to the departure airport. On the same day, flight KC897 from Almaty to Dubai, scheduled for 08:50 AM, was canceled. At that time, passengers were also offered full refunds, and the carrier warned of further possible schedule changes.
The company later announced the resumption of regular flights from July 15 on the Almaty–Dubai–Almaty and Astana–Dubai–Astana routes. However, the carrier noted at the time that it was continuing to monitor the situation in the Middle East and might adjust the schedule again if necessary.
The decision to completely halt flights to Dubai until the end of August has now been attributed to the further deterioration of the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and the region.
Passengers planning trips to the UAE are advised to take these changes into account and contact the carrier for refunds or rebooking. Until July 21, flights to Dubai will continue to operate as normal for passenger repatriation.
