Tengrinews.kz – Members of the Backstreet Boys continued their cultural immersion in Kazakhstan by taking a dombra lesson in Astana.
A video shared on Instagram by producer Malik Khassenov showed the band inside the Bayterek monument, attentively listening to a traditional kui played by Khassenov. Three of the musicians held dombras in their hands, while Nick Carter added a local touch by wearing a traditional chapan.
“Malik Khassenov’s Altyn Dombra school and its new students,” he captioned the post.

The producer also uploaded a photo of three band members posing under the song Toi Zhiri by the legendary Kazakh group Dos Mukasan. Jokingly, he wrote:
“The group ‘Boys Mukasan’ is now available for bookings at Sphere Las Vegas, tusau keser, kyz uzatu. We sing in Kazakh and English, dance, film videos, and host events.”
Just a day earlier, the Backstreet Boys were given an unusual airport welcome in Astana. As soon as they arrived, fans surrounded them in the VIP terminal before the hit song Everybody started playing, prompting cleaners, flight attendants, a pilot and “random” passengers to break into a flash mob. Around 30 professional dancers joined the performance.
