150 Kazakhstani military man under the command of Lieutenant Colonel of the peacekeeping battalion Bakhytzhan Zhetpisov and Captain of Kazbat reinforced company Ayan Nurkassov are participating in the international drills that focuse on peacekeeping and peace support operations.
The main goal of the Steppe Eagle is exercising cooperation between peacekeeping and military corps of the NATO members.
The Kazakhstani peacekeeping battalion is training to improve compatibility in multinational environment, execution of operation orders and tracking current operations.
This is the 12th time the Steppe Eagle exercise is conducted. The first peacekeeping exercise was organized in the Iliysky training range of the Airmobile Forces of Kazakhstan in 2003.
The USA, the UK, Kyrgyzstan, Germany and Tajikistan are also participating in the Steppe Eagle 2014.
