Uralvagonzavod is counting for Kazakhstan’s purchase of an additional batch of Terminator tank support fighting vehicles (BMPT), Interfax-Kazakhstan writes. “Kazakhstan is the first country that bought the BMPTs. We can now say that this is a serial supply and we have set up a serial production of the BMPTs. And we hope that our Kazakhstan colleagues will purchase another batch of these vehicles,” deputy Director General of Uralvagonzavod Vyacheslav Khalitov told Interfax. According to him, the interest to this military vehicle from other countries have sharply increased after Kazakhstan purchased the first batch of the BMPTs. “Around ten countries - our traditional partners from Africa, Asian-Pacific region and the CIS - are showing interest,” Khalitov said. Meanwhile, a source in Kazakhstan military-industrial realm told Interfax that Astana is considering purchase of another 10 to 30 BMPTs - several units are to be supplied every year - as well as the purchase of an additional batch of heavy flame systems TOS-1A.
