The air part of the parade rehearsal included Su-5, MIG-29, SU027 and L-39 aircrafts, as well as Airbus Military C-295 turbine aircrafts that dropped paratroopers. Zhetyssu and Sunkar pilot groups showed air stunts and accurate elimination of “targets” on modernized jets. Combat launches of ground-to-air missiles at "targets" were performed from S-125 quadruple launcher. New samples of military vehicles, armament and communications produced by Kazakhstan defense industry will also be demonstrated at the Parade. “Our people will see how troops act in the field: the tough work of generals, officers and soldiers, who work out strategies and tactics and shot from different armament in the field,” first deputy Defense Minister of Kazakhstan Saken Zhassuzakov said after the rehearsal. According to him, Kazakhstan forces are already training along new programs that, apart from attack and defense, prepare for actions against other threats and in varied conditions, such as operations at nights, in the mountains and cities. The official also reminded that Kazakhstan Armed Forces had three strategic tasks to make the country’s army comply with the requirements of the 21st century. They include informational support, robotics and intellectualization of the Armed Forces. Zhassuzakov expressed confidence that Kazakhstan Armed Forces have all the required capacities and funding to achieve the set tasks. In October 2012 Kazakhstan President signed a law establishing a new state holiday: the Motherland Defendant’s Day. It is celebrated on May 7.
