Sheep population goes down in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan's livestock of sheep and goats made 18.4 million animals as of March 1, 2013, which is 2.1 percent less than last year, KazTAG reports citing Kazakhstan Statistics Agency. According to the statistics, the livestock of horses grew 4.8 percent and reached 16.4 million animals. The livestock of cows went 0.1 percent down and made 6 million animals. According to the official information, Kazakhstan's population made almost 17 million (16,953.9 thousand) people as of March 1, and increasing by 0.25 percent since the beginning of the year. In the other words, there is roughly 1 sheep and one third of a cow per capita in Kazakhstan.
