Petrol prices increased by 21 percent in January-August 2011 in Kazakhstan, KazTAG reports citing chairman of Kazakhstan Statistics Agency Alikhan Smailov. “What concerns retail prices, diesel fuel prices in particular, they grew 24 percent from the beginning of the year (January-August 2011) and the manufacturers prices grew 22 percent. Petrol prices increased by 21 percent and manufacturers raised them 29 percent,” Statistic Agency chairman said at the briefing. Prices for liquefied gas were elevated by 7.5 percent. “Propane and butane producers raised prices by 6 percent,” Smailov added. Kazakhstan Ministry of Oil and Gas has fixed the following ceilings for fuel prices in September: AI-92/93 – 106 tenge ($0.73), AI-80 – 86 tenge ($0.59), diesel fuel – 90 tenge ($0.62).
