Kazakhstan’s gas stations have ensured favoring purchase price for August: throughout the month the wholesale price for petrol shall not exceed 87% of the retail price ceiling set by the Oil and Gas Ministry, Tengrinews.kz reported, citing the Ministry. Respective memorandum was signed by representatives of the Agency for Protection of Competition, Agency for Natural Monopolies Regulation and petroleum products wholesalers at an ad-hoc sitting. Late July Kazakhstan had set retail price ceiling for fuel for August. Retail prices for petrol in August will look as follows: $0.72 per liter of AI-92/93; $0.58 per liter of AI-80; and $0.61 per liter of diesel fuel. Before that gas stations had been complaining that the retail price ceiling set by the government [for July] with wholesale prices being unregulated is loss-making for the gas stations.
