Kazakhstan exceeded target on Internet users

Kazakhstan Minister of Information and Communications Askar Zhumagaliyev said that density of Internet users reached 41.1 percent in September 2011, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Minister's Twitter. "As per the preliminary information of the Statistics Agency, this density of Internet users was registered in September,” Zhumagaliyev tweeted. The Memorandum of Objectives for 2011 signed by Prime-Minister and Minister of Communications and Information set the goal of reaching 34.1 Internet users per every 100 Kazakhstan residents. The set target has been exceeded. According to the research made by Kazcontent, Internet users constituted around 4 quarters of the country's population in 2010. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that Minister of Communications and Information promised to surprise Internet-users in Kazakhstan with a drop of prices on January 1, 2012.
