Kazakhstan cut 32 customs posts at Russian border

In 2011 Kazakhstan has eliminated 32 customs posts in relation to abolishment of customs control at the border with Russia, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing the Customs Control Commission of Kazakhstan Ministry of Finance. The Ministry's message also stated that the managerial staff has been also cut in regional customs departments, some customs control departments were reorganized and independent customs points like Astana-Zhana Kala, Baikonyr and Financial-Economic Customs were eliminated. Besides, the number of deputies of the chairman of the Customs Control Commission was decreased from 4 to 2 for optimization purpose.
