China will fund construction of a $100 million wind power station Pavlodar Oblast in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Pavlodar oblast Akim (Governor). “Further cooperation was discussed at the foundation meeting of the Kazakhstan-Chinese Business Council held during the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Astana. The meeting resulted in signing a memorandum of mutual understanding and cooperation between Pavlodar Social-Entrepreneurship Corporation represented by its Board Chairman and Akim (Governor) of Pavlodar oblast Yerlan Aryn and Vice-President of China Development Bank Li Jiping with the goal of implementing the project consisting in construction of the 50 MW wind power station in Pavlodar oblast,” the press-service writes. The power station is to be built 100km from Ekibastuz, not far from the border of Pavlodar and Akmola oblasts. The estimated cost of the project is 15 billion tenge ($100 million). The first meeting of Kazakhstan-Chinese business council with participation of Kazakhstan and Chinese Presidents was held in Astana on September 8. During the meeting Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of China Xi Jinping launched Beineu-Bozoi trunk pipeline via a telebridge. This was the first state visit of the Chinese President to Astana. The meetings of the Presidents of both countries resulted in signing of several agreements on further strategic interaction and development of bilateral relations.
