The last session in the history of the Mazhilis of Kazakhstan took place

During the session, deputies reviewed Senate amendments to the law previously adopted by the Mazhilis "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Environmental Issues and the Improvement of Specific Economic Sectors" and approved them.
Mazhilis members also passed the Law "On the Ratification of the Protocol on Amendments and Additions to the Protocol to the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Checkpoints Across the Kazakh-Uzbek State Border dated September 4, 2006" and forwarded it to the Senate.
Mazhilis Chairman Yerlan Koshanov summarized the results of the parliamentary session. He also thanked the deputies, government members, the Mazhilis staff, and media representatives for their collaborative work.
Kazakhstan's new Constitution will take effect on July 1, 2026. According to the previously adopted Basic Law, the successor to the current bicameral Parliament will be the Kurultai. Elections for its deputies are scheduled for August.
