Kazakhstan to develop tourism in Turkish Kemer

Kazakhstan will receive some land in the forest in Kemer district of Antalya province in Turkey, Tengrinews.kz reports. The Majilis is currently working on a draft law On ratification of the protocol between the governments of Kazakhstan and Turkey on amendments to the protocol between Kazakhstan and Turkey on transfer of property in Kemer district of Antalya province into Kazakhstan ownership. “This protocol is called to enhance cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkey. The protocol regulates some of the issues related to the use of the land. The Commission is ready to work it out and prepare a statement,” chairman of the Majilis Commission on International Affairs, Defense and Security Maulen Ashimbayev said. Kazakhstan will own a part of the forest with the total area of 67,256 square meters. The forest is located at the territory of Beldibi village in Kemer district, Antalya province. The existing document states that a part of the land with the area of 22,302 square meters will be used for recreation and health-improvement purposes. Another part of the land with the area of 44,954 square meters may be used free of charge until December 31, 2010. Starting from January 1, 2011 it can be used for tourist purposes. Kazakhstan will also transfer some land into Turkish ownership. Turkish government will receive two land lots: 7,000 square meters in Aktau and 1,500-2,000 square meters in Almaty. The period of the lands use will make 49 years. Majilis commissions have positively evaluated this document and suggest to ratify it. By Gulnara Zhandagulova
