Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are set to establish a joint venture for elevator production.

A bilateral business forum held in Astana saw the signing of a memorandum of understanding for collaboration in the elevator industry, according to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Trade and Integration.

Erzhan Igibaev, head of the Kazakhstan Lift Association, revealed that the agreement includes the creation of a Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan joint enterprise for elevator manufacturing.

"We have also agreed on establishing a dispatch center for the diagnostics of Kazakhstan’s elevator fleet and developing unified standards and technical regulations to enhance service quality in the elevator sector," he said.

Sarvar Akhadev, General Director of TechnoPark LLC, explained that the Uzbek side is ready to share its expertise in "elevator production and dispatch systems according to European standards."

"We will soon determine the scale and location for starting production. Industrial cooperation in our region holds significant potential due to mutual dependencies in logistics and component supplies," he added.

In related news, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Kazakhstan, where he was welcomed at Astana International Airport by Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
