Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Culture and Information has clarified that Kazakhstan will not be changing its national emblem due to recent floods affecting several regions.
Discussions about changing Kazakhstan’s national emblem began back in March 2024, focusing that current emblem was overly complex, eclectic, and carried Soviet-era influences. However, the decision to change the emblem has been put on hold, because of natural disasters.
The Ministry of Culture and Information explained that decisions on constitutional projects, constitutional laws, and other significant state matters are made through a national referendum involving a public vote.
"We conducted an analysis of similar changes in other countries. However, due to recent natural disasters in several regions of our country, these initiatives have been temporarily halted," reported the Ministry.
