Tengrinews.kz - It has become known that wolf and jackal hunting will be allowed in Kazakhstan.

In Kazakhstan regulated hunting of these animals will be allowed, subject to the established rules. The Committee for Forestry and Wildlife has prepared a biological justification determining the permissible volume of shooting of these animals in 2025.

"On January 15, 2025, from 10 A.M., it will be possible to obtain a permit for the removal of animal species (shooting - ed.), the number of which is subject to regulation (wolf, jackal). According to the biological justification, the period for regulating the number of animals is set until December 31, 2025," the department said in a post on Instagram.

The department also reminded that permits for regulating the number of animals are issued according to the rules approved by the order of the Minister of Ecology No. 347 dated December 30, 2020. The service can be obtained online on the website www.elicense.kz.

"In Akmola, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kostanay, Mangystau, Pavlodar regions, and Ulytau region, permission will be issued only in cases of registered attacks on livestock," the Forestry and Wildlife Committee clarified.

According to the department's announcement, regulation of the number of wolves and jackals is permitted until December 31 of this year. Thus, hunting for wolves and jackals will be permitted, but only within the established quota, taking into account biological justification and for the purpose of controlling the number of these animals.

Previously, two Kazakh citizens were punished with heavy fines for saiga hunting.
