Tengrinews.kz - The akim (governor) of Astana, Zhenis Kassymbek, addressed the question of whether the capital will host a fireworks display for New Year’s Eve.
The akim confirmed that fireworks are scheduled for December 31.
"Fireworks are planned for December 31. Just a couple of days ago, we lit the city's Christmas trees, and more than 30 public spaces have been prepared for the New Year celebrations," Kassymbek said during a briefing at the Central Communications Service.
In addition, the city has set up children’s skating rinks and slides.
"There are New Year trees functioning at 15 locations. The city is ready for the New Year celebrations. There will be fireworks," the akim added.
