Tengrinews.kz – The Astana city administration has published information about who has been invited to the military parade scheduled to take place in the capital on May 7.

Strict security and control measures will be in place at the parade venue. Therefore, invitations have been extended only to World War II veterans, home front workers, combat veterans, top units of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, honor guard companies, veterans of the armed and security forces, law enforcement officers, and others.

All other residents and guests of the capital are encouraged to watch the parade via live broadcast only.

“For the sake of public safety and orderly organization of the event, live attendance of the parade is limited this year. This decision was made to minimize risks associated with large gatherings amid heightened security measures. The number of seats in the stands is limited and pre-allocated, ensuring proper control and coordination during the parade. This is standard international practice when organizing large-scale events, especially those involving military equipment and aviation,” officials explained.

They noted that all citizens had the opportunity to view parade elements during open rehearsals on May 3 and 4.

“Additionally, on the day of the parade, a live broadcast will be available on all national TV channels and LED screens in cities and regions across the country, making the celebration accessible to everyone,” the Ministry of Defense added.

Traffic restrictions will also be in place in the area where the parade is held.
