Who owns Kazakhstan’s sanatoriums and resorts

Tengrinews.kz – The Bureau of Statistics has provided information on the ownership structure of Kazakhstani resorts and health facilities.

Out of more than 300 resorts and sanatoriums in Kazakhstan:

• 288 organizations (86.5%) are privately owned,
• 44 organizations (13.2%) are state-owned,
• 1 organization (0.3%) is foreign-owned.

Most state-owned sanatoriums are located in the Kyzylorda region and Almaty. The leaders in private ownership are the Turkestan region and Shymkent, while the only foreign-owned facility is in the North Kazakhstan region. Interestingly, 41 sanatoriums are registered as individual enterprises.

Earlier, the Bureau of Statistics has revealed which regions of Kazakhstan have the most sanatoriums and resorts.
