Transport tax payment deadline expires
April 1, 2025 is the deadline for paying the transport tax for 2024. You can calculate the amount of tax to be paid yourself in the e-Salyq Azamat mobile application or on the website of the State Revenue Committee.
Since March 15, second-tier banks have begun sending Kazakhstanis personal amounts of transport taxes.
Those who are late with the payment will be charged a penalty daily. Tax authorities will send notifications to bailiffs. They, in turn, can seize property and bank accounts, restrict travel outside the country, prohibit loans, and so on.
Mopeds will be registered in Kazakhstan
From April 5, 2025, mopeds will be officially equated to mechanical vehicles in Kazakhstan. From this date, driving an unregistered moped will be considered a violation of the law.
To register, you must contact the special PSCs at your place of residence with an identity card (can be in electronic form), a technical document or the characteristics of the moped. After that, you need to fill out an application, have the moped inspected and pay state fees.
Insurance rules for drivers will change
Changes to the bonus-malus system for calculating the cost of compulsory motor third party liability insurance will come into force in Kazakhstan on April 7, 2024. According to the new rules, the insurance class will be affected not only by accidents, but also by gross violations of the rules recorded during the validity period of the insurance policy.
Pavlodar airport will be closed for flights
Pavlodar airport will be closed for reconstruction from April 1 to November 1, 2025. The airport plans to carry out major repairs: reconstruction of the runway and its expansion. Without reconstruction in 2026, the airport will not be able to receive an airworthiness certificate and accept flights.

The acceptance of documents for first grade starts
This year, the acceptance of applications for enrollment in the first grade will start on April 1 and will last until August 31. According to the law "On Education", children from 6 years old are enrolled in the first grade upon application from their parents. Documents can be submitted through the e-government portal, information systems of akimats (local government organizations), as well as in paper form. Applications are accepted from Monday to Friday, excluding weekends and holidays.

Mobile communications and Internet tariffs will increase again
Mobile communications and Internet tariffs will increase again in Kazakhstan. According to Kcell, from April 21, the cost of the archived tariff plan "Alga-1" will increase by 23.4% - from 2990 to 3690 tenge.
According to Activ, for users of some archived tariff plans, the subscription fee will also increase. The increase in the cost of services, depending on the tariff, will be in the range of 300 to 700 tenge.
From Altel's publications it follows that from April 26, their monthly subscription fee for some tariff plans will also increase.
Maternity benefits will be paid in a new way
In Kazakhstan, the maximum income for calculating social benefits for pregnancy and childbirth has been established. Now it is equal to 7 minimum wages (595 thousand tenge in 2025), regardless of the number of employers. The corresponding order will come into effect on April 8.
