As a reminder, the administrative reserve is located on the territory of the Mangistau region. The total area of ​​the reserve is about 223 thousand hectares. The highest point of the reserve is on the Western Ustyurt cliff in the area of ​​the Kugusem well (+340 meters above sea level), the lowest is in the northern part of Kenderli-sor (-52 meters). The diversity of the relief and soils contributes to the richness of the flora and fauna of the reserve. According to the organization, 403 species of plants, 32 species of mammals, 166 species of birds, 15 species of reptiles and 1 species of amphibians are registered here. Many animals and plants are listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan. For example, such mammals as the Ustyurt urial, the white-bellied arrow-ear.

Earlier, a badger was caught on a camera trap in Charyn National Park.
