Tengrinews.kz - U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan Daniel Rosenblum has announced his resignation, according to the U.S. Embassy's press service.

Rosenblum informed the Kazakh government of his intention to step down on January 20, 2025, and retire after nearly 28 years with the U.S. Department of State. In his statement, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent the United States in Kazakhstan and highlighted the strong partnership built between the two nations.

Under Rosenblum's leadership, U.S.-Kazakhstan relations saw significant progress in trade, investment, education, and security. He emphasized that working with the Kazakh people and advancing strategic initiatives were key highlights of his tenure.

Following his departure, Deputy Chief of Mission Deborah Robinson will assume interim responsibilities as head of the U.S. diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan. Meanwhile, U.S. Consul General in Almaty Michelle Yerkin will continue to support consular operations.

Until his departure, Ambassador Rosenblum will focus on completing ongoing tasks and ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities to maintain the continuity of the mission's operations.
