Tengrinews.kz – The President of Kazakhstan held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, citing Akorda.
During the conversation, which took place at the initiative of the Georgian side, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Irakli Kobakhidze discussed the current state and prospects for further development of Kazakh–Georgian relations.
The interlocutors reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation across a wide range of issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda.
“Special attention was paid to expanding interaction in the trade, economic and investment spheres, with a focus on priority areas such as transit and transport links, energy and tourism,” the Akorda statement says.
There was also an exchange of views on current international and regional issues. The parties agreed to step up contacts at the highest level.

It should be recalled that in February 2025 Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in Astana. At that time, the head of the Georgian government invited the President of Kazakhstan to pay a visit to Georgia.
It was also noted that today at Akorda Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Gela Geladze. The parties discussed pressing issues of bilateral cooperation in ensuring law and order and combating crime.
The President of Kazakhstan stressed that Georgia is an important and reliable partner of our country in the South Caucasus. According to him, relations between the two peoples, which have deep historical roots, have stood the test of time.
