A telephone conversation was held with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the National Leader of the Turkmen people on his birthday, wishing him success in his responsible state activities for the benefit of brotherly Turkmenistan.

"The Head of State noted Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's significant contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, based on centuries-old bonds of friendship, good-neighborliness, and mutual respect," the Akorda press service noted.

Highlighting the high level of Kazakh-Turkmen relations, the sides discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda and prospects for further cooperation.

It is worth recalling that last spring, the former President of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, visited the Turkistan region.

At that time, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. They also toured the Turkistan Visit Center to observe the museification process of the historical site and visited the national cultural complex located within the Azret Sultan Reserve.

In addition, President Tokayev held an informal meeting with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The parties discussed prospects for further strengthening the multifaceted strategic partnership across the entire spectrum of bilateral relations.
