Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed amendments on education and protection of children's rights.
"The Head of State signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan 'On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on State Awards, Education and Protection of Children's Rights'," the report says.
One of the innovations in the document is the introduction of a new form of family placement for children. As Vice Minister of Education Edil Ospan explained, if a child is left without parents, he is immediately sent to a foster family, bypassing a boarding school. A family can have no more than four children in order to ensure that each one receives quality care.
Minister of Education Gani Beisembayev also said that this innovation will allow children to grow up in a family where they will not only be foster children but also beloved household members.
Earlier, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded a group of Kazakh citizens for their efforts in mitigating the consequences of the plane crash in Aktau.
