Tengrinews.kz - The Head of State received Minister of Transport Nurlan Sauranbayev, citing Akorda.
During the meeting, measures to further strengthen the country’s transit and transport potential were discussed.
“Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the importance of actively developing road networks and air hubs to increase the volume of freight traffic through Kazakhstan. Particular attention was paid to the timely implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects in the railway sector,” the statement said.
In order to increase the share of the transport and logistics sector in GDP, the minister was tasked with analyzing limiting factors and revising approaches in the industry.
“The President instructed to take a set of effective measures to expand the capacity of transit corridors and to strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a key trade and logistics hub of Eurasia,” Akorda’s statement noted.
On June 30, President Tokayev appointed Nurlan Sauranbayev as the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan.
