Tokayev sends telegram to the President of Iran

Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a telegram to the leader of Iran, according to the press service of Akorda.

The Head of State congratulated Masoud Pezeshkian on Iran’s national holiday – the Day of the Islamic Revolution.

The President of Kazakhstan expressed confidence that bilateral relations will continue to develop dynamically for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.

The Head of our State wished the President of Iran success in his responsible work and well-being to the people of Iran.

On 11 February, Iran celebrates the Day of the Islamic Revolution, which took place in 1978–1979. It led to the emigration of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi (who ruled from 1941 to 1979) of the Pahlavi dynasty. Ayatollah Khomeini returned to the country and eventually headed the new administration. In March 1979, a referendum on the political system was held in the country, and on 1 April Iran was proclaimed an Islamic Republic.
