Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the crime situation in the country.

As Erzhan Sadenov reported, since the beginning of the year there has been a decrease in crime. The number of criminal offenses has decreased by 5.5 thousand, including crimes - by almost 10 thousand.

"There is a reduction in the number of offenses committed in public places and by minors. At the same time, the detection rate for all categories of crimes has improved. The Minister reported on the implementation of the "Law and Order" principle in the country, measures to ensure "zero tolerance" for offenses and their prevention.

The President was informed that over the past period, 40% more administrative offenses have been suppressed, including cases of petty hooliganism - by 30%, traffic violations - by 48%. 32% more citizens have been deprived of their driver's licenses, including for drunk driving. More than 1.6 thousand wanted criminals have been detained, including 158 abroad," the Akorda statement says.

The head of state was also briefed on the progress of implementing his instructions on combating organized, cyber and drug crime, ensuring road safety, improving the penal system and digitalizing personnel processes.

At the end of the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of instructions to further improve the level of law and order and public safety in the country.
