Ibrahim Canliel presented the company’s long-term development strategy to the President, which aims to strengthen Kazakhstan’s position as a regional aviation hub and expand the group’s international presence.

Air Astana plans to develop its route networks and multimodal transportation, as well as increase flight frequencies. Special emphasis will be placed on digitalization and the implementation of new technologies.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the importance of effectively implementing strategic goals such as fleet expansion, route network growth, and strengthening transit potential. In particular, he identified establishing direct flights to the United States and Japan as a priority.

"The Head of State drew attention to the frequent and justified public criticism regarding flight delays and aircraft substitutions, and called for the development of air links with countries that view Kazakhstan as a person of interest for tourism," the Akorda press service stated.
