Tokayev: Our goal is to become the leading digital country in the region

Tengrinews.kz – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Masoud Pezeshkian took part in the Kazakhstan–Iran business forum. The President of Kazakhstan expressed confidence that the forum would strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy and investment, according to Akorda.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev identified large-scale digitalization as one of the key areas of cooperation with Iran.

“Kazakhstan is consistently implementing measures to develop the digital economy and introduce artificial intelligence technologies. We have set an ambitious goal to become the leading digital country in the region over the next three years. Confirmation of our intentions was the establishment of the region’s first Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development,” President Tokayev said during his speech.

He noted that this year Kazakhstan launched the first supercomputer in Central Asia and opened the International Artificial Intelligence Center Alem.AI.

“In addition, we are paying special attention to the development of the city of Alatau, which has been granted the status of a city of accelerated development by my decree. This project is aimed at developing the crypto industry, innovation, and technology-based businesses. We are interested in close cooperation with Iranian companies in these areas,” Tokayev said.

According to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kazakhstan and Iran are entering a qualitatively new stage of cooperation. The two sides are laying a solid foundation for expanding economic partnership in trade, investment, logistics, and technology.

In conclusion, the President of Kazakhstan expressed confidence that the forum would become an important step toward further strengthening relations between the two countries.
