Tokayev offers condolences to Indian Prime Minister

Tengrinews.kz - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a telegram of condolences to the Prime Minister of India, citing Akorda.

In the telegram addressed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Tokayev expressed his deep condolences over the numerous human casualties resulting from the crash of a passenger plane near the airport of Ahmedabad.

"The President of Kazakhstan conveyed words of support to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the air disaster," the Akorda statement said.

On June 12, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner operated by Air India, en route from Ahmedabad to London, crashed shortly after takeoff.

According to media reports, the aircraft crashed into a dormitory for doctors near the airport. Before the crash, the Boeing issued a Mayday distress signal. The captain had 8,200 flight hours, and the co-pilot had 1,100.
