Tokayev met with top executives of major Arab companies

During the meeting with Masdar CEO Mohamed Al Ramahi, President Tokayev emphasized that the partnership between Kazakhstan and Masdar had reached a new level.

He highlighted the successful signing of key agreements for a major wind farm project with a capacity of 1 GW in the Zhambyl region, with investments totaling $1.4 billion.

In response, Mohamed Al Ramahi briefed the President on the company’s plans to begin construction and expressed interest in using locally manufactured components for wind turbine production. The discussion also covered Masdar’s potential expansion in Kazakhstan and the development of new projects in renewable energy and digitalization.

Additionally, Khaled Salmeen, ADNOC’s Executive Director for Downstream, attended the meeting.

"President Tokayev underscored Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with ADNOC. Khaled Salmeen, in turn, noted significant opportunities for cooperation between the national oil and gas companies of both countries," Akorda’s statement reads.

The parties discussed joint investment projects in the oil and gas sector, including exploration initiatives. Special attention was given to potential collaborations in digitalization and artificial intelligence.

President Tokayev arrived in the UAE on January 13 for a working visit.

He was welcomed at Abu Dhabi airport by UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other officials. During his visit, Tokayev held a meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Qasr Al Shatie Palace. Tokayev emphasized that the UAE remains a key partner for Kazakhstan in the Arab world.

During his speech at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week summit, Tokayev unveiled an ambitious strategy focused on sustainable development.
