Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received members of the Switzerland–Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship Group, according to a report from Akorda.
During the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan emphasized that the country attaches great importance to its long-standing relations with Switzerland, a time-tested and reliable partner of Kazakhstan in Europe.
Tokayev recalled his official visit to Switzerland in 2021, which laid a solid foundation for strengthening the partnership between the two nations.
“The President emphasized that the visit of a representative delegation of Swiss parliamentarians confirms the mutual desire to further develop comprehensive cooperation. The important role of parliamentary diplomacy in enhancing mutual understanding and expanding bilateral collaboration was also highlighted,” the Akorda press service stated.
For his part, Filippo Lombardi, coordinator of the Switzerland–Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship Group, expressed gratitude to President Tokayev for the warm welcome and reaffirmed Switzerland’s interest in deepening partnerships and implementing joint initiatives.

The meeting also discussed prospects for trade and investment cooperation between Astana and Bern, as well as issues of coordination within international organizations.
