Tengrinews.kz - The head of state met with Zurab Pololikashvili, the Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), according to a statement from the Akorda press service.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to the UNWTO delegation and personally to the Secretary-General, Zurab Pololikashvili, for participating in the opening ceremony and supporting the 5th World Nomad Games.
The head of state noted that this large-scale international event will contribute to strengthening friendship among peoples, promoting Kazakhstan's image, and showcasing the rich cultural and historical heritage of our country.
"Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan's commitment to close cooperation with the organization and expressed readiness to implement joint initiatives in the field of tourism. Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili thanked the President for the warm welcome and highly praised the organization of the World Nomad Games in Astana," stated in the message of Akorda.
According to Zurab Pololikashvili, such events open up broad opportunities for developing tourism and the country's economy as a whole.

"During the meeting, prospective directions for expanding Kazakhstan's partnership with the United Nations World Tourism Organization were discussed. Emphasis was placed on practical steps to enhance the country's tourism attractiveness and strengthen its position on the international stage," the Akorda statement concludes.
Additionally, in the lead-up to the games, President Tokayev met with the head of Tatarstan, greeted the head of the Republic of Sakha, and met with the Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
