Tengrinews.kz – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has instructed that efforts to preserve and promote the Tazy and Tobet dog breeds be continued.
According to the President’s adviser and press secretary, Ruslan Zheldibay, the Head of State emphasized the importance of further promoting the Kazakh Tazy breed internationally as a national brand and an integral part of the country’s culture.
It is worth noting that just recently, dogs of this breed successfully participated in the World Dog Show 2025.
“The President stressed that government bodies, together with the Union of Cynologists of Kazakhstan, must actively work in such areas as the development and reproduction of the unique qualities of the Tazy breed, organizing systematic scientific research, and ensuring regular participation in international exhibitions. The Head of State instructed the Presidential Administration, the Ministries of Ecology and Natural Resources, Science and Higher Education, Agriculture, Foreign Affairs, and other relevant agencies, as well as local akimats, to take the necessary organizational measures to implement a joint comprehensive plan,” Zheldibay wrote on his Telegram channel.
Tokayev also noted the need to organize similar large-scale efforts, with the involvement of relevant government bodies, to support the Tobet breed.
“This matter will remain under the constant supervision of the Presidential Administration,” the statement said.
