President Tokayev emphasized that the agreements reached during Vladimir Putin's state visit to Kazakhstan in May had given significant momentum to the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation.
"The governments of both countries are ensuring the consistent implementation of the agreements reached. During the conversation, special attention was paid to preparations for the 22nd Kazakhstan–Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum, which will take place in Omsk at the end of July. The heads of state also discussed current issues on the international and regional agenda," the Akorda press service said.
The conversation concluded with the two presidents agreeing to maintain regular working contacts.
As previously reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a state visit to Kazakhstan at the invitation of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev from May 27 to 29. During their talks, the two leaders discussed the current state and future prospects for strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and allied relations between Kazakhstan and Russia.
On May 28, the Eurasian Economic Forum was held in Astana with the participation of the heads of state of the Eurasian Economic Union member countries. On May 29, a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council took place.
