Tengrinews.kz — Kassym-Jomart Tokayev chaired a meeting of the Security Council.
Under the President’s chairmanship, the results of the implementation of the National Security Strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2021–2025 were reviewed.
The government presented a report on the achievement of the main indicators. Heads of several relevant state agencies also provided information on key areas.
“The Head of State drew attention to the need for further work on issues of public, economic, environmental, water, and food security, taking into account the geopolitical situation. In addition, during the meeting, the draft National Security Strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2026–2030 was reviewed. This Strategy is intended to become one of the most important components of the state planning system, defining the main approaches to countering key challenges forecast for the upcoming five-year period,” the Akorda press service said.
Information was also heard from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin on priorities, target indicators, and mechanisms for managing strategic risks in the medium term.
“Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that the adoption of the new Constitution marks a new stage in the development of statehood, ensuring reliable protection of Kazakhstan’s Independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The Strategy, in turn, is intended to ensure the protection of constitutional principles, creating conditions for the stable and steady development of the country,” the Akorda press service noted.
The President stressed the need for high-quality implementation of the assigned tasks related to protecting national interests, ensuring defense capability, increasing the level of protection of citizens, the environment, and the information space, strengthening cybersecurity measures, and reducing risks in the socio-economic sphere.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also instructed that work be accelerated on a program aimed at creating favorable conditions for attracting qualified foreign specialists to the country in in-demand sectors of the economy, technology, and education.
