Tokayev expresses support for Qatar amid regional tensions

Tengrinews.kz - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a phone conversation with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, citing Akorda's press service.

During the call, President Tokayev expressed Kazakhstan’s full solidarity and support for the people of Qatar during this challenging time.

"The President praised the Emir’s political wisdom, which has played a crucial role in easing tensions. Under his strong leadership, Qatar has taken on a special role in addressing the region’s most complex issues," the statement said.

The two leaders agreed to maintain regular high-level contact, including during the Emir’s upcoming visit to Kazakhstan.
