President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory telegram to the President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, on the occasion of the country's national holiday.
In his message, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence in the further strengthening of bilateral relations based on traditional friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation.
"Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wished Rumen Radev success in his responsible state activities, and the friendly people of Bulgaria - prosperity and well-being," the press service of Akorda notes.
Bulgaria's Liberation Day is celebrated on March 3 in honor of the signing of The Treaty of San Stefano in 1878, which put an end to Ottoman rule. On this day, solemn ceremonies, military parades, and wreath-laying ceremonies are held, especially at the Shipka Pass, where key battles took place. The President of the country makes an address, and historical programs are broadcast in the media. The holiday symbolizes the revival of Bulgarian statehood and is one of the main national days of the country.
Previously, the General Prosecutor's Office announced that Kazakhstan and Bulgaria signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of asset recovery.
