Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Han Chunlin, citing Akorda.
“During the meeting, the parties discussed preparations for Tokayev’s upcoming visit to the People’s Republic of China and his participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and the SCO Plus meeting in Tianjin,” the statement reads.
The Head of State emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches priority importance to deepening its comprehensive strategic partnership with China.
Tokayev expressed confidence that the SCO summit will be highly successful, marking a new milestone in the organization’s history and contributing to the further development of broad regional cooperation.
For his part, the ambassador said he would make every effort to ensure the successful organization of the events in Tianjin and Beijing, which will give an additional boost to strengthening multifaceted Kazakhstan–China relations.
The sides also discussed prospects for expanding trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
As a reminder, Tokayev will visit China from August 30 to September 3 at the invitation of President Xi Jinping.
As part of the visit, high-level talks will be held to discuss prospects for strengthening the comprehensive and everlasting strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China.
On August 31 – September 1, the President of Kazakhstan will take part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and the SCO Plus meeting in Tianjin.
On September 2, in Beijing, the Head of State will address the Kazakhstan–China Business Council and hold a series of meetings with leaders of major Chinese companies.
On September 3, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as an honored guest, will attend ceremonial events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II.
It should be recalled that in June, at the invitation of Tokayev, the Chairman of China paid a two-day visit to Kazakhstan.
During that visit, a bilateral meeting and high-level talks were held, where issues of further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China were discussed. As a result of the talks, 24 intergovernmental and interagency documents were signed, covering cooperation in the fields of energy, aerospace, digitalization, customs regulation, agriculture, e-commerce, tourism, intellectual property, healthcare, media, science, and interregional communications.
