Tengrinews.kz - A foreign citizen, who had been threatening and showing aggression towards his former partner, was detained by police in Pavlodar, according to Polisia.kz.
According to the authorities, the woman contacted the police asking for action to be taken against the man with whom she had previously been in a relationship.
"After the breakup, the man continued to stalk and control her. He sent threatening messages and regularly used offensive language towards her, threatening physical harm," the statement said.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the detained individual was in Kazakhstan in violation of his stay period. The man was held administratively accountable and placed in a detention facility for document processing through the embassy. He is facing deportation from the country.
"The woman had previously been unable to report the threats and surveillance to the police because she hoped the situation would resolve on its own," the statement noted.
Previously, a Chinese citizen was severely punished for spitting in the air harbor building at Almaty airport. The man was not only fined but also removed from his flight.
