Tengrinews.kz - The Bureau of National Statistics has named the most popular months for marriages in Kazakhstan.
According to the data, over the past ten years, August has consistently led in the number of registered marriages in Kazakhstan. On average, about 14,900 marriages are registered in this month, with a record set in 2016, when 16,900 couples officially tied the knot.
In previous years, July and September were among the top three wedding months, but the situation has changed in the last two years. Since 2023, September has given way to June. For example, in June 2024, 11,600 marriages were registered in the country, while in September there were 10,800. Thus, as of today, June, July, and August have become the most in-demand months for wedding celebrations.
Kazakhstanis get married the least in January. Over the past ten years, this month has most often ranked last in the popularity rating. May has also consistently been among the less popular months for marriage registration.
The “modest” month in terms of statistics was April 2020, when, at the height of the pandemic, only 3,800 marriages were registered in Kazakhstan.
