Tengrinews.kz – In Almaty, the co-pilot of a SWISS aircraft was hospitalized after an emergency landing. The aircraft was earlier forced to land due to the deterioration of his health during the flight.
According to the press service of Almaty Airport, on May 6, 2026, at 12:48 p.m., an Airbus A350 operating the Seoul–Zurich flight landed at the airport.
The emergency landing was caused by the co-pilot feeling unwell. According to preliminary data, he was suspected of having acute abdominal syndrome.
“By the time the aircraft landed, the airport’s medical service was already waiting for it. Specialists provided first aid, after which, in accordance with established procedure, they handed the patient over to the arriving city ambulance team. The pilot was taken to City Hospital No. 4 for the necessary examination and further treatment,” the press service said.
As a reminder, a SWISS Airbus A350 sent a distress signal while flying over Kazakhstan. According to Flightradar24, the aircraft was in the Balkhash area and was later diverted to Almaty.
