Storm warning issued for six regions in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz - On November 5, Kazhydromet announced a storm warning for six regions of Kazakhstan due to strong winds, with speeds exceeding 30 meters per second in some areas.

In the southern mountainous areas of the Almaty region, a westerly wind with gusts of 15-20 meters per second is expected.

The western, northern, and eastern parts of the East Kazakhstan region will experience icy conditions. Fog is forecasted for the northern regions during the night and morning hours. Winds from the southeast will shift to the northwest in the north and east of the province, reaching speeds of 15-20 meters per second.

In the Zhetysu region, southeast winds near the Alakol lakes will have gusts of up to 15-20 meters per second overnight.

Heavy precipitation (rain and snow) is anticipated in the western, northern, and eastern areas of the West Kazakhstan region. Fog and icy conditions will also affect the western, northern, and eastern parts of the region. Blizzards are expected overnight in the western and northern areas. Winds will come from the southwest, shifting to the northwest, with gusts reaching 15-20 meters per second.

In the south and east of the Kostanay region, fog is expected during the night and morning.

In the northwest of the Mangystau region, heavy rainfall is anticipated during the day. Southeast winds will shift to the northwest overnight in the western part of the region, reaching 15-20 meters per second, while during the day, gusts may intensify to 30 meters per second or more in the west and center of the province.

Earlier, meteorologists provided a weather forecast for Kazakhstan for November 5, 6, and 7.
