Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan’s Kazhydromet has issued storm warnings across the country for December 13, forecasting snow, fog, and strong winds in multiple regions.
Weather Forecast for December 13:
- Astana: Snow, low visibility, and blizzard conditions.
- Akmola region: Snow, blizzard. Southwest wind with gusts of 15–20 m/s in the west, north, and east.
- Mangistau region: Fog expected in the north, south, and center, with ice formation. Southeast wind turning northwest, gusts up to 15–20 m/s in the north and west.
- Kyzylorda region: Ice on roads and fog in the south and center. In Kyzylorda city, occasional fog.
- Turkestan region: Fog expected in the west, south, and mountainous areas. Southwest wind with gusts of 15–20 m/s in the north and mountainous regions.
- West Kazakhstan: Snow, blizzard, and ice in the night with strong precipitation (rain and snow) expected in the west and north. Wind gusts of 15–20 m/s, reaching 23–28 m/s during the day.
- Almaty region: Ice expected at night and in the morning in the south and mountainous areas. Southeast wind with gusts of 15–20 m/s.
- Atyrau region: Rain and snow with ice formation. Blizzards expected during the day, with wind gusts of 15–20 m/s.
- Aktobe region: Snow, blizzard, and ice at night, with snow, rain, and blizzards expected during the day. Wind gusts of 15–20 m/s.
- Zhetysu region: Ice and fog in the mountainous areas, with wind gusts of 15–20 m/s.
- East Kazakhstan: Snow, blizzard, and ice during the day in the west, north, and east, with gusts up to 25 m/s.
The stormy weather is being caused by a powerful cyclone replacing the anticyclone, bringing wet air masses and widespread precipitation, snow, ice, and blizzards across the country.
Kazhydromet advises the public to stay safe and cautious as weather conditions worsen.
